2018 Quilt Workshops Planned
We are planning three workshops in the first half of 2018. They include:
Basket Weaving by Karen Fleck
There will be two basket-weaving classes this year:
Beginner Tote—April 7, 10am—4pm, Eastside Christian Church, 2001 Bayard Park, Evansville, Kit cost $20
Intermediate Wooden Handle Basket—May 5, 10am-4pm, same location, Kit cost $25
Improvisational Piecing by Karen Hampton.
This fun class makes you re-think how you do curved piecing and create blocks that are then pieced to a quilt/wall hanging. Karen's methods are real eye-openers. You don't want to miss this one. It will be Saturday, June 2, at Newburgh Library from 9:30-4:00.
Bindings and Facings — Our Quilt Show Judge noted that if there is one area where we could improve as a Guild, it is in binding our quilts. We will teach at least 3 different methods of binding, and will teach how to face a quilt (especially for modern quilts and art quilts). Date-location TBA.
Dates and locations are being finalized. Signups will begin once all arrangements have been made.
